When I come to download the firmware from a daily build, the download fails with my Windows 10 desktop reporting a network error. After multiple (12 for one file and 19 for another) attempts the file does download but records the multiple attempts in my account and on the builds page. I have not reselected the download link directly, but requeued the file via the download manager. I’m not willing to use the builder to customise firmware as it will just chew up my credits for no result. Can anything be done should I have the same problem using a build of my own?
You know, there have been odd reports of this now and again for quite some time - but I’ve never been able to reproduce it.
I came to the conclusion that it has to be some interference by something like an anti-virus program causing it to fail, or a browser extension - or something along those lines.
If you can try testing this in an Incognito mode in your browser, that might give a hint as to what is going on.
Don’t stress too much about the credits - they only decrease on a successful build, and replenish with time.
I had exactly the same issue. My solution was to temporarily untick “Block dangerous downloads” in Firefox “Privacy & Security” section in Settings. Firefox prevents binary file downloads to protect your PC. After it downloaded, I re selected the option.
I managed to get a daily build downloaded on the first attempt without having to change any security settings. I’m using Edge. I’m mystified as to what I did different.
I’ve managed to get a successful first time download without having to check any tick boxes or alter security settings, so I’m as uninformed as ever as to what was causing the failed downloads. When the downloads stalled, usually around the 140k or 117k mark if I remember correctly, I used the “retry” facility in the browser’s download manager. I’m not sure if that will help
