Is it possible to get the TX/RX buffer sizes increased in the nightly firmware packages? I’m getting pauses from Octoprint and after eliminating everything else (replacement Pi, USB cable, power supply, SD Card, and fresh install) I’m thinking the bottleneck is at the printer.
Is there enough room in the 8bit nightly to increase these buffers?

Hi Jeff,
This is due to the max board rates being set to 115200. On some very detailed prints - specifically on curves - this becomes a bottleneck. Changing the buffers doesn’t help in this regard.
I would recommend installing the Meatpack plugin for OctoPrint. It uses binary encoding to nearly double the throughput of the serial port when sending G-code to the printer.
Most people see these issues go away after doing this.
I will do this. Thank you. Also noticing that switching back to Cura 4.8 also dealt with this issue.
